D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

There isn’t much that D.J. Moore cannot do on the field. The wide receiver has been one of the most underrated players at the position over the last couple of seasons and he looks to be well on course to enter the elite category judging by his production through Week 3 of the 2021 season.

Moore has developed strong chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold right out of the gate. Something he hasn’t really had during his time with the Carolina Panthers so far.

With Christian McCaffrey set for another spell on the sidelines, the onus will be on the former Maryland star and others to step up and keep the franchise trending in the right direction.

This was an accomplished performance from Moore, who was relentless in the first half and eventually finished the game with eight receptions from 12 targets for 126 receiving yards.

Moore’s route-running is progressing well and if his blossoming relationship with Darnold continues in this manner, some career numbers could be in the offing this season as the wideout looks for a lucrative contract extension next spring.

Carolina picked up Moore’s fifth-year option, so time is on their side regarding any new deal. Whichever way they choose to go, it’s absolutely imperative the 2018 first-round selection is tied down to the organization long-term and sooner rather than later.
