Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE

Parting ways with Dan Arnold to bring in C.J. Henderson was a big call to make by the Carolina Panthers. But their decision to pull the trigger is a testament to the team’s faith in rookie tight end Tommy Tremble.

There is plenty going for the former Notre Dame standout. And the Panthers still have Ian Thomas to pick up the slack until Tremble is ready to assume the No. 1 position on the depth chart.

This could happen much sooner than expected.

Tremble made a lasting contribution during Carolina’s win at the Houston Texans, bringing in a long pass from Sam Darnold for 30 yards and also securing a rushing touchdown for good measure.

Tremble is also an exceptional blocker, which Arnold is not.

Expecting him to instantly become Greg Olsen 2.0 is unrealistic. But there should be plenty more targets coming his way in the not-too-distant future with Arnold now in Jacksonville.

If Tremble was looking for another confidence boost after the best performance of his fledgling professional career, then this trade is all he needs. The Panthers know how gifted the third-round pick is, so now is the time to put him in the best possible position en route to potentially being fast-tracked to superstardom.
