4 ways Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold can hurt the Cowboys in Week 4
By Dean Jones
How can Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold make the Dallas Cowboys pay when the two teams clash at AT&T Stadium in a crucial Week 4 matchup?
Sam Darnold has gotten off to an impressive start for the Carolina Panthers this season. The quarterback’s made a hugely positive impact during his first three games under center, leading the team to a 3-0 record and producing some outstanding numbers along the way.
Much has been made about whether the Panthers are a legitimate postseason challenger. The level of competition wouldn’t be classed as stellar so far, but that is going to change during a trip to the Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal Week 4 matchup.
Dallas is generating some real momentum after coming up short in their season opener. But they are far from invincible and if Darnold can extend Carolina’s unbeaten start at AT&T Stadium, it will put the entire NFL on notice.
Of course, Darnold won’t have the benefit of the league’s best dual-threat running back alongside him. Christian McCaffrey injured his hamstring at the Houston Texans and is expected to miss a few games, so the onus will be on the signal-caller to make things happen in the All-Pro’s absence.
Easier said than done, obviously.
However, the way Darnold stepped up in the second half in Houston was very encouraging.
Without further ado, here are four ways Darnold can hurt the Cowboys in Week 4 and take his game to a completely different level.
