Ezekiel Elliott – RB
The last two seasons haven’t been kind to Ezekiel Elliott as he’s fumbled the ball a lot and lost a lot of carries to backup running back Tony Pollard. But last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, the former Ohio State star proved why he should still be considered as one of the league’s best with a two-touchdown game, along with 95 yards on 17 carries.
The Carolina Panthers will certainly have their hands full with Pollard also being a part of the Dallas Cowboys’ game plan, but Elliott is the more explosive back and needs to be treated as just that.
Fumbling the ball has been a known issue for Elliott and with the amount of athleticism that Carolina has on defense, they can shake him up.
If this forces the Cowboys to just use Pollard, it would be a huge advantage.
The Panthers haven’t allowed a single player to rush for more than 25 yards this season and haven’t allowed a running back to score a touchdown.
However, Elliott will be the most dynamic rusher they’ve faced this season. He is currently tied for first in the league with three rushing scores – along with none other than Sam Darnold.
We’ll find out how good Carolina’s run defense actually is this week.
