What were some major factors behind the Carolina Panthers’ first loss of the 2021 season at the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4?

It was a valiant effort late on, but the Carolina Panthers left themselves too much to do en route to their first defeat of the 2021 season. The Dallas Cowboys turned up the heat at just the right time. something which proved decisive in the overall outcome.

This was all part of the learning experience, according to head coach Matt Rhule following the game. The Panthers won’t face many better teams than the Cowboys this season and they have a tremendous opportunity to get themselves back in the win column next weekend at home to the Philadelphia Eagles.

That is providing this young roster picks itself quickly and responds well to adversity. Something they’ve yet to experience in 2021 thanks to a fantastic start that saw them win their first three contests.

Lessons must be taken on board. And there are some obvious positional groups not pulling their weight that’ll only cause more frustrations moving forward.

Carolina did keep fighting until the end and got within one score without Christian McCaffrey or Jaycee Horn in the lineup. Even if it wasn’t enough to complete what would have been a stunning comeback.

Without further ado, here are four major factors to blame for Carolina’s loss at the Cowboys in Week 4.
