If the Carolina Panthers can emerge from their Week 4 game at the Dallas Cowboys with a win, it will give the team’s incredible start to the 2021 season a real shot in the arm. It seems everyone has been poking holes in Matt Rhule’s men going 3-0 to begin the campaign, claiming that they have yet to be tested against high-quality opposition.

It’s not like the New Orleans Saints didn’t come into Week 2 riding on the crest of a wave. But Sunday’s encounter is the chance for Carolina to shut up those doubters once and for all.

The Cowboys are sure to provide stiff opposition. Had it not been for a late Tampa Bay Buccaneers field goal, they too would be sitting at 3-0.

We’ll know more about what the Panthers can realistically accomplish this season following the game. But they should approach it without fear in their current form.

Will Christian McCaffrey play in Week 4?

Christian McCaffrey injured his hamstring in Week 3 at the Houston Texans and will not suit up at the Cowboys. The running back hasn’t been placed on the reserve/injured list, but there remains hope within the organization he can come back in the not-too-distant future.

McCaffrey will be a huge loss to the Panthers. But they did show some encouraging signs in the second half without the All-Pro during their previous outing.

Not only will McCaffrey miss the contest, but the Panthers are without two valuable starters in Jaycee Horn and Juston Burris with both on the reserve/injured list.

Here is Carolina’s official injury report for Week 4:

  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos – Doubtful
  • OG John Miller – Questionable

Here is the Cowboys’ injury report for Week 4:

  • DE Dorance Armstrong – Out
  • OT Ty Nsekhe – Out
  • DE Carlos Watkins – Out
  • S Donovan Wilson – Out
  • DE Randy Gregory – Questionable

Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 4

WynnBET’s Week 4 NFL odds have Carolina as underdogs by 4.0 points on the road. The money line odds are +180 for the Panthers (bet $100 to win $180), with the Cowboys currently sitting at -210 (bet $210 to win $100).

The over/under set by WynnBET is 51.5, which is available either way at -110 (bet $110 to win $100).

This is going to be a game of fine margins one suspects. A contest that comes down to which team wins in the trenches.

Carolina might not come away with a win, but betting them to cover at +4.5 seems like a realistic play.
