The Carolina Panthers were dealt a harsh hand by the referees as they fell behind for a second time at the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

Playing the Dallas Cowboys on the road is bad enough. But it’s an incomprehensible challenge when NFL referees cannot do their job sufficiently.

The Carolina Panthers found this out to their cost late in the first and early in the second quarter. Something that led to the Cowboys going ahead for the second time thanks to a Blake Jarwin touchdown.

First and perhaps the most telling was the incident involving Jeremy Chinn, who stuffed tight end Dalton Schultz causing him to fumble, only for the play to be halted with a forward progress designation.

Judge for yourself.

Carolina Panthers denied a clear turnover.

Furthermore, the play was not able to be reviewed by the Panthers‘ coaching staff.

If that wasn’t enough, a crucial fourth down that resulted in a big running gain for Dak Prescott saw a clear hold on Morgan Fox, which was again missed by the officials.

The refs did at least get the two-point conversion call correct. But even that needed a review.

Home field advantage is a real thing. Especially in Dallas.

If the Panthers weren’t aware of the size of the task awaiting them, they are now completely up to speed.
