Carolina Panthers in the third quarter

The Carolina Panthers seem to always struggle in the third quarter throughout the short Matt Rhule era and it was another quarter on Sunday that they will hope to forget.

Coming out of the locker room to start the second half, the Panthers had a 14-13 lead over the Dallas Cowboys, but that quickly disappeared.

First, Carolina kicker Zane Gonzalez missed a 54-yard field goal to extend the lead, and then the Cowboys had a four-play drive to take a 20-14 lead and would score again for a 26-14 advantage on their next offensive drive.

Sam Darnold then threw an interception, Dallas scored another touchdown and the signal-caller dropped another pass into the hands of Trevon Diggs – who now has five picks over his first four games.

Just like that, Dallas led 36-14 and the game was all but over.
