What were the big talking points from the Carolina Panthers’ defeat at the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 of the 2021 season?

The Carolina Panthers are no longer undefeated after a late comeback fell short in a 36-28 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington.

Boy, there is a lot to unpack from this game.

A disastrous third quarter which saw the Cowboys score 20 unanswered points was enough to lift them to a victory and help them move to 3-1. Not to mention some questionable officiating calls in favor of the home side which helped contribute some points to “America’s Team”.

Sam Darnold finished the game with a stat line of 29/39 for 301 passing yards, two touchdowns,  and two interceptions. He also added a pair of scores on the ground to take his total to the season to five, moving him to the NFL’s leader for rushing touchdowns.

Carolina lost this game on both lines, the No. 1 ranked defense was incapable of stopping a dominant Dallas run game, and the frankly pathetic Panthers offensive line did nothing to protect its quarterback throughout the game.

Without further ado, here are five big talking points from Carolina’s opening loss of the campaign in Week 4.
