4 ways Stephon Gilmore will help the Carolina Panthers

Stephon Gilmore gives the Carolina Panthers an elite defensive player
Throughout their 26 years of existence, the Carolina Panthers have always made sure to have as good of a defense as possible and build from that.
From the likes of Julius Peppers, Kevin Greene, Thomas Davis, Luke Kuechly, and Sam Mills, some great defensive players have come through Carolina and the organization has benefitted enormously from their presence both on and off the field.
The 2015 Super Bowl team had a great offense but also a well-constructed defense, which often goes overlooked compared to the incredible production from quarterback Cam Newton during that span.
When Kuechly retired before last season, the Panthers lost their most sure-thing player on defense and frankly, the eliteness that he brought.
Brian Burns looks like he can become an elite player very, very soon. But he’s not there just yet.
Not only will Stephon Gilmore bring in more fans to the seats for the rest of this season, but the potential of him completely dominating a game can happen at any moment.
Only a handful of defensive players can take over a game and Gilmore will be the first big-name to do so for Carolina since Kuechly.
