Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold rushes for 0 TDs and throws 0 INTs

Sam Darnold had his best rushing performance a week ago against Dallas as he was able to find the end zone twice. He now sits at five rushing touchdowns, which is the most by a starting quarterback in his team’s first four regular-season games.

Darnold also threw two very costly interceptions in the second half that prevented any chance of a comeback for the Carolina Panthers.

Maybe it was due to Carolina being down in the second half and Darnold forcing a couple of throws that weren’t necessarily open. He has been very efficient with the football prior to that game.

This was the first contest this season he has thrown multiple picks and was just interception number two and three for him on the season.

The expectation is the Philadelphia Eagles game will likely be a high-scoring affair and the book is now out on these red-zone runs from Darnold that are getting him into the paydirt.

However, this should likely open up the field a little more to air it out. Plus, Christian McCaffrey has a chance to return, so look for a lot of those red-zone targets to go to him.

Darnold will take care of the football this week and will see his touchdowns come from his arm rather than on the ground.
