Could Brady Christensen become the Carolina Panthers LT?

With Cam Erving already ruled out of the game, the Carolina Panthers now face a conundrum of whether to start veteran Trenton Scott or rookie Brady Christensen at the left tackle position. Although the calls to install the BYU product into the lineup are deafening, Matt Rhule has taken his time with the third-round pick while he adjusts to life at the next level.

However, the Panthers might never get a better opportunity to see what Christensen can do.

Christensen was a dominant edge protector in 2020 at the college level, but questions about his arm length saw his draft stock plummet and Carolina used him at guard more than tackle during the preseason.

Perhaps Scott might be a more viable option despite his struggles last season. But the organization needs to know what it has in Christensen one way or another.

The Philadelphia Eagles don’t have a formidable pass-rush coming off the edge. Their strength comes from Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave on the interior.

And let’s be honest, it couldn’t get much worse considering how poor Erving has been.

If the Panthers opt to slot Christensen at left tackle in favor of Scott, his production will be scrutinized more than most. But if he excels under pressure, it could see the player secure the position long term.
