FOX. Sunday, October 10. 3-1. Panthers -3.0. 1 PM ET. 1-3. 54. 87

As far as bounce-back games go, this is a good one for the Carolina Panthers. Returning to Bank of America against the Philadelphia Eagles after a disappointing loss at the Dallas Cowboys could be just what Matt Rhule’s ever-improving roster needs to get themselves on track.

Even though the Eagles have lost three straight contests, they shouldn’t be taken lightly. They have some big-time playmakers on both sides of the football and if Carolina isn’t ready from the outset, it could bring around some unnecessary complications.

Opinion seems to be split as to how this game is going to go with most analysts. But the Panthers need to make a statement and prove they have the character and resolve to overcome adversity when it arrives in 2021.

It’s going to be another fascinating Sunday afternoon for everyone associated with the organization. And make no mistake, a 4-1 record at the end of it is well within the team’s capabilities.

Will Christian McCaffrey play in Week 5?

The simple answer to this is probably not. Christian McCaffrey has been officially listed as doubtful for taking part in practice this week, with Carolina keen to err on the side of caution when it comes to their star running back.

Although nothing will be confirmed until just before kickoff, it would be a big surprise if McCaffrey was declared ready to go after missing just one game with a hamstring problem.

Panthers Injury Report vs Eagles Week 5

Outside of McCaffrey, the Panthers are dealing with some other injury problems ahead of the game. Struggling left tackle Cam Erving has been ruled out, with in-form outside linebacker Shaq Thompson also missing from the clash.

Here is Carolina’s full injury report for Week 5:

  • OLB Shaq Thompson – Out (foot)
  • OT Cam Erving – Out (neck)
  • RB Christian McCaffrey – Doubtful (hamstring)
  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos – Questionable (ankle)
