Donte Jackson –  Carolina Panthers CB

As a whole, the defense put together another great performance. However, cornerback Donte Jackson would’ve been the MVP had the Carolina Panthers scored after two of his best defensive plays of the day.

In the third quarter, Jackson had back-to-back takeaways. First, he forced rookie Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, DeVonta Smith, to fumble the ball and Jeremy Chinn recovered.

On the next defensive drive, Jackson intercepted Jalen Hurts. It was his first takeaway of the season and the 11th of his career.

Unfortunately, the Panthers scored exactly zero points from those drives. Simply unacceptable and something that eventually cost them their fourth victory of the campaign.

Jackson is in his contract year and he has been having a breakout season.

Compared to his rookie year when he made a lot of young mistakes, it’s sensational to watch Jackson grow into his own and if the Panthers had any sense, they would extend the LSU product at the earliest possible opportunity.
