For once, a Carolina Panthers kicker actually had a good game!

Zane Gonzalez, who was playing in his fourth game with the Panthers, connected on all three of his field goals and lone extra-point attempt.

The three field goals came from 48, 43, and 50 yards. Something that was a clear shining light from an otherwise disappointing afternoon at the office as a whole.

With all the offensive struggles taking place in Carolina, the fact that they don’t have to worry about their kicker struggling right now is a sigh of relief. Especially since they’re now on their fourth since training camp.

It was a rollercoaster for the Panthers where their kickers are concerned. Gonzalez is the latest in a long line of attempts to solidify the position, which began in training camp with Joey Slye and also included a trade for Ryan Santoso which didn’t work out.

On a day where a lot went wrong offensively, Gonzalez was a bright spot. Hopefully, this is a trend that can continue long into the future.
