A second half capitulation from the Carolina Panthers

Much like the situation last weekend, the Carolina Panthers went into halftime with a slender lead. Although in this instance, it should have been much more on the balance of play.

This brought around some worries considering how poor the Panthers have been following the interval. Something that yet again reared its ugly head offensively right out of the gate.

Credit to the defense, who came out with a renewed sense of purpose led by the sensational Donte Jackson. But despite countless chances to stretch the lead, Carolina just couldn’t get it done.

And when you keep games close, bad things tend to happen.

The Philadelphia Eagles needed a fair few invitations. But they finally managed to get their noses in front with a little over two minutes remaining thanks to a Jalen Hurts touchdown and two-point conversion, and Sam Darnold was unable to get Carolina back in it on the following drive.

It feels like I’m banging my head against a brick wall talking about the same stuff week after week. Simply put, it takes a collective effort to lose a game in this manner and Carolina’s ongoing failings are the reason why they cannot be considered as a legitimate postseason challenger.

Another learning experience? The time has been and gone for that considering the same things keep coming up over and over again.
