The Carolina Panthers gave up Dan Arnold in order to acquire C.J. Henderson from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ian Thomas and rookie Tommy Tremble were featured more against the Philadelphia Eagles, but the former is out of contract at the end of the season and the Notre Dame product seems like a work in progress.

If the Panthers want to bring another quality pass-catcher into the mix, then someone like Evan Engram is an option worth considering. The New York Giants player has endured a stuttering career so far due to injury, so he’d probably welcome a change of scenery more than most.

The Giants are missing some key offensive playmakers following their defeat at the Dallas Cowboys, with Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones both unable to finish the contest. Trading away Engram would be a drastic measure considering there isn’t much else on the roster capable of producing the goods.

It appears as if the Giants are heading for another mini-rebuild, so the more draft picks they can acquire, the better. Carolina might also be willing to let a rotational piece go the other way that could immediately assist New York in some capacity.

When Engram is at the top of his game, he is a potentially dominant tight end with impressive ball skills coupled with smooth route-running. Keeping the player healthy is difficult, and bringing him on board might slow the progress of Tremble for good measure.
