Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OG

There is a theme here, obviously. But after another pathetic performance overall from the offensive line, it is more than warranted.

The Carolina Panthers didn’t really address the protection as a real priority this offseason. To say it’s coming back to bite them would be a huge understatement.

Dennis Daley enjoyed two solid performances before Week 5, but the former sixth-round pick reverted to type against the Philadelphia Eagles that saw him lost at sea more often than not.

Daley is a nice backup option to call upon. But the player isn’t quick or strong enough to become a prolific NFL starter on a contending team.

That might be a little harsh.

However, the issue can be sugarcoated no longer.

As stated previously, the Panthers don’t have much in the way of depth across the line. So it’s a case of making do with what they have unless a free agent comes in or general manager Scott Fitterer goes back into the trade market yet again.

Daley is on the chopping block. And one more poor performance could spell the end of meaningful reps.
