Again, this represents incredible value and could give the Carolina Panthers a long-term answer at the troublesome left tackle position. It’s clear for all to see that Cam Erving isn’t the answer, with the decision to give him a two-year deal on Day 1 of free agency one of the more bizarre moves of the Matt Rhule/Scott Fitterer era.

Simply put, the Panthers are never going to get anywhere with their current offensive line options outside of stud right tackle Taylor Moton. Even if Deonte Brown and Brady Christensen eventually become starters, they still need a blindside presence that’s been lacking since Jordan Gross retired following the 2013 campaign.

That’s a long time to be without a productive player at one of the most important positions on the field.

Rasheed Walker could fix all that in an instant. He is a solid frame with long arms and the necessary athleticism to potentially become a Week 1 starter with a smooth transition to the professional ranks.

Walker is quick-footed and his explosiveness to the point of attack is eye-catching. While he wouldn’t be the most mobile prospect to ever come into the league, it’s sufficient enough to make a big difference.

Another thing that sets Walker apart is his high football IQ, which allows him to identify various pressure schemes quickly and react accordingly.

Again, he could go much higher than this. But the Penn State standout is someone Carolina should be keeping a close eye on.
