Sam Darnold – Carolina Panthers QB

If you started Sam Darnold last week based on my advice, I sincerely apologize.

As alluded to before, Darnold was terrible against a Philadelphia team that the Carolina Panthers were good enough to beat.

The former USC star has looked great in some instances this season, but last Sunday’s game was one of the most frustrating offensive performances I’ve ever seen.

The stat line was ugly:

  • 21/37
  • 177 yards
  • 1 touchdown
  • 3 interceptions
  • 6.08 fantasy points

Here’s to hoping that performance was an outlier or it will be a very long season in Carolina.

Start or Sit in Week 6?

SIT.

To be fair to Darnold, last week’s performance was a fantasy outlier compared to his previous outings. Professional athletes have a ton of pride so the 24-year old could bounce back, but I’m very concerned about the Panthers’ offensive line and the Minnesota Vikings are a top-10 team against quarterbacks in fantasy football.

If you’re intent on starting Darnold this week, then just be aware of what a big gamble it is. One that could go either way.
