Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

Had it not been for the seven-yard receiving touchdown to help the Carolina Panthers send the game to overtime, this would’ve been just an atrocious performance by Robby Anderson.

Anderson, who has been almost non-existent and unable to connect with Sam Darnold in this Carolina offense through the first six games of the year, had multiple drops on Sunday, including a big one on third down late in the game.

It seems that the drops and failure to produce are beginning to get into Anderson’s head. Pushing too hard to make plays is only going to bring more mistakes and the longer this goes on, the worse it’s going to get.

Anderson signed a contract extension this offseason after a fine season for the Panthers in 2020 after arriving from the New York Jets. But it’s clear that something is amiss and Carolina is now trying to force the issue in the former Temple star’s direction in pursuit of reigniting his season.

The touchdown did bring a glimmer of hope for Anderson’s outlook the rest of this season but he has already failed to live up to the contract extension he signed this offseason.

Things can only go up, right?
