Which Carolina Panthers have some work to do following the team’s disappointing loss against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6?

The dust is finally beginning to settle on what turned out to be another disastrous performance for the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. Sunday’s reverse at Bank of America Stadium at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings was yet more proof of just how much work is needed to get this team into contention, which appears some way off at the present time despite a promising start.

What comes next is of critical importance. A four-game losing streak heading into the midseason point wouldn’t be a good look for the Panthers, so defeat at the struggling New York Giants in Week 7 would see the pressure mount considerably on Matt Rhule and his players.

Their 3-0 start to the campaign was an illusion. And perhaps what we’ve seen of late is just who the Panthers are at this juncture rather than looking at them as a surprise playoff challenger.

Without further ado, here are four Panthers with work do following their overtime loss versus the Vikings.

Derrick Brown – Carolina Panthers DT

The production of Derrick Brown hasn’t been terrible by any stretch of the imagination. But the defensive tackle has failed to deliver on the two occasions he’s come up against a formidable interior offensive line this season.

Brown wasn’t able to generate the necessary pressure and was a non-factor in the run game. Something that allowed Dalvin Cook to set the tone en route to 140 rushing yards and one touchdown from 29 carries.

It’s only right to expect more from Brown than most on the roster. That’s par for the course for a top-10 pick and especially considering he’s flashed real greatness since arriving in Carolina.

However, he’ll need to raise his game accordingly and hope that the Panthers’ offense allows their defense to get some rest, which they were unable to do for the most part last time around.
