4 glaring stats that cost the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 vs. Vikings

Carolina Panthers dropped 8 of 25 catchable passes
Things just didn’t go according to plan for the Carolina Panthers on offense. A lack of focus and poor execution were noticeable through the game and had they not miraculously turned things around in the fourth quarter, it would have seen even more criticism come their way this week.
We’ve spoken before about how poor Sam Darnold was. But when a quarterback is struggling to get into a rhythm, he needs his pass-catchers to do their job and make plays when the ball comes their way.
Those individuals failed Darnold. It’s just that simple.
The Panthers dropped no fewer than eight of the 25 catchable balls thrown their way. This ranked No. 6 among the NFL’s most over the last decade according to Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus.
This was unacceptable and quite frankly, painful to watch at times.
When things aren’t going your way, forcing the issue is the natural course of things. So it’s offensive coordinator Joe Brady’s job this week to relax his players and put them in the right positions to build confidence.
Hopefully, this will come with improved performance at the New York Giants.
Any further complications regarding drops will be scrutinized more than ever. It’s also something Darnold could do without ahead of a make-or-break contest in Week 7.
