Stephon Gilmore can be a calming influence for the Carolina Panthers
Although the Carolina Panthers brought in some veteran assistance during the offseason, this is still one of the NFL’s youngest rosters who are growing together all the time. While it should serve the organization well in the long run, players like Stephon Gilmore could be essential during times of strife in the coming weeks.
Carolina is projected to have the hardest remaining schedule. Not exactly ideal for a team that’s flattered to deceive without the services of Christian McCaffrey over the last three games.
Simply put, the Panthers need all the help they can get.
Gilmore’s mere presence on the roster will not only give everyone associated with the franchise a massive boost. But it will also provide a calming influence when some around him might be losing their heads.
There isn’t much Gilmore hasn’t seen or accomplished throughout a glittering career that might end up with a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction one day. Something the Panthers would be wise to lean on once he’s fit enough to take his place in the lineup.
The South Carolina product is clearly excited about returning to more familiar surroundings. And a cool head is exactly what the Panthers need with their 2021 season threatening to spiral out of control.
