5 big changes the Panthers should consider at the NY Giants in Week 7

Carolina Panthers must get Shi Smith more involved
It was encouraging to see Shi Smith finally take the field in Week 6. The Carolina Panthers are taking their time with the wide receiver, who was taken as a sixth-round development project who could potentially become a member of the rotation down the line.
However, given recent circumstances, Smith’s progression needs to speed up.
Carolina put Brandon Zylstra on the reserve/injured list following an injury against the Minnesota Vikings. Terrace Marshall Jr.’s status is also in doubt after a huge hit forced him out with a concussion.
Couple this with some bad errors from Robby Anderson and a distinct lack of involvement from the tight ends, and getting Smith more involved at the New York Giants is of critical importance.
The South Carolina product certainly flashed in his competitive debut, bringing in both his receptions and also returning a kick for 24 yards. Smith has assured hands and gets open quickly, which the Panthers and quarterback Sam Darnold desperately need to get out of their slump.
If Marshall cannot go, then Smith might be the slot option despite the presence of Alex Erickson on the depth chart. Something that comes with a significant amount of intrigue and fans will be excited by the thought of him getting more playing time.
