Robby Anderson leads the Carolina Panthers in receptions & yards

It’s been a rough start to the season for Robby Anderson. His drops against the Minnesota Vikings were a microcosm of how things have gone for the wide receiver in 2021 and the expected chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold just hasn’t been there over the first six games.

Anderson fronted up on Monday during his presser, outlined his desire to be better, and took full accountability for his mistakes. The talent is obviously there, so it would be a huge shock if things continue in this manner throughout the campaign.

The former Temple star goes back to where it all began this weekend. With former Carolina Panthers cornerback James Bradberry set to shadow D.J. Moore, it represents a good chance for Anderson to put up some significant numbers against a suspect pass defense.

Confidence is key here. If Anderson can put last week’s performance to the back of his mind and keep getting open consistently, then a potential breakout won’t be far away.

Much will also depend on Darnold going through his progressions quickly, which the jury is obviously still out on.

However, Anderson is simply too good to keep going like this. And the Panthers will want to get his individual morale up as soon as possible.
