1 PM ET. Panthers -3.0. FOX. Sunday, October 24. 1-5. 31. 3-3. 87

Everything seems to favor the Carolina Panthers this week as they look to halt their alarming three-game skid at the New York Giants. But considering the current plight of the organization, complacency is simply not an option despite Joe Judge’s men boasting a 1-5 record and some incredible injury concerns on offense.

The Panthers haven’t exactly been setting the world alight lately, either. Their disappointing overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings was a contest they were second best throughout and if they cannot get it done against inferior opposition at MetLife Stadium, Matt Rhule and his staff can expect some severe criticism coming their way.

There is still time for Carolina to salvage the season.

Even though that ship has already sailed for the Giants.

For the first time this season, things are truly on a knife-edge. But at least from the outside looking in, Carolina couldn’t have asked for a better game after three weeks of losing football.

It doesn’t matter how things unfold. Just win the game.

That’s all that matters.

Will Stephon Gilmore play in Week 7?

There was plenty of excitement in the air this week when Stephon Gilmore made his long-awaited return to the practice field. However, Carolina is erring on the side of caution with the All-Pro cornerback after being out for a lengthy period of time with a torn quad.

Gilmore didn’t end up traveling with the team to New York, meaning he’ll get another good week of practice before potentially coming off the physically unable to perform list in Week 8 at the Atlanta Falcons.

Panthers Injury Report at Giants Week 7

Carolina put running back Christian McCaffrey on the reserve/injured list this week, meaning Chuba Hubbard gets an extended run as the true No. 1 option. The Oklahoma State product has done well overall, but the additions of Ameer Abdullah and Reggie Bonnafon this week could provide additional assistance as Rhule looks to adopt a run-first mentality.

As for the Giants, it’s an absolute car crash. Promising left tackle Andrew Thomas is the latest to go on IR, with a host of influential players already ruled out and many others listed as questionable.

Here is Carolina’s full injury report for Week 7:

  • WR/KR Alex Erickson: Questionable (concussion)
  • WR Terrace Marshall Jr: Out (concussion)
  • OLB Shaq Thompson: Out (foot)
  • FB Giovanni Ricci: Out (concussion)
  • OT Cam Erving: Out (neck/illness)

Here is the Giants’ lengthy injury report for Week 7:

  • RB Saquon Barkley: Out (ankle)
  • WR Kenny Golladay: Out (knee)
  • WR John Ross: Questionable (hamstring)
  • WR Kadarius Toney: Out (ankle)
  • DL Danny Shelton: Doubtful (pectoral)
  • WR Darius Slayton: Questionable (hamstring)
  • WR Sterling Shepard: Questionable (hamstring)
  • TE Evan Engram: Questionable (calf)
