Carolina Panthers need a new punter

Punter Ryan Winslow said he was in Arizona helping his uncle with his apparel store before being signed by the Carolina Panthers.

After his performance at the New York Giants, that’s probably the best place for him.

Winslow set the tone early with a pathetic 28-yard punt. Things didn’t improve much for the former Pittsburgh Panther as his seven attempts netted just 258 yards an average of under 37.

On the season out of the 40 punters and kickers who have punted Winslow ranks 37th with an average of just 38.6 yards. This ranks him below former starter Joseph Charlton even lower than current Panthers kicker Zane Gonzalez.

With the struggles the Panthers are currently having on offense it’s vital that they have someone at punter who can pin opponents deep.

It seems Winslow is not that guy.

There are much bigger problems for the Panthers to solve before they next take the field. But considering Charlton isn’t going to be coming back anytime soon – if at all – replacing Winslow this week should be classed as a priority.
