Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper could do anything this week

We could be in for a wild week where the Carolina Panthers are concerned as team owner David Tepper could simply do anything in the wake of this embarrassing defeat.

That could range from firing a prominent coach such as Matt Rhule or Joe Brady – although highly unlikely – or trading for Deshaun Watson or another quarterback whose name hasn’t been mentioned.

With the trade deadline fast approaching, expect Tepper to act.

Tepper has seen only mediocre football since buying the franchise from Jerry Richardson in 2018. His successful $2.2 billion bid to acquire the team was the highest in NFL history at the time.

Three seasons since Tepper bought the franchise have all been losing ones. As someone who has invested a significant amount of money in the Panthers – one expects he’s getting pretty restless at the current state of affairs.

It’s clear Tepper won’t stand for failure. So don’t be surprised to see a shakeup at Bank of America Stadium this week.

Just what that’s going to be is unclear. But there appears little doubt Tepper is more than capable of taking decisions out of Rhule’s hands if he deems it necessary.
