Aaron Rodgers

If the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers do go their separate ways next spring, it’s going to come with one of the biggest free-agent scrambles in recent memory.

The reigning NFL MVP was the talk of the offseason after throwing his future with the franchise in doubt and after a difficult opening game against the New Orleans Saints, it’s been business as usual for the exceptional signal-caller.

Rodgers’ surgical precision and ability to make plays out of nothing is a sight to behold. The former California star has the Packers primed for another Super Bowl run and if he can achieve this, then walking away at the top of the mountain is a fitting end to a memorable 17 years with the franchise.

The Carolina Panthers have the tools to be a playoff contender right now. Providing they fix the offensive line and get better production from the quarterback position.

Waiting for Rodgers or someone else would mean 10 more games of Sam Darnold. But if they wanted to go with a rookie to develop, that time was earlier this year rather than trade with the New York Jets.

Convincing Rodgers to come to Carolina is probably a pipe dream. Even if the benefits are there for all to see and the Panthers do have the cap space to make him a pretty substantial offer.
