Colin Kaepernick

This would be the polar opposite of bringing in Deshaun Watson and all his baggage. Although Colin Kaepernick has been out of the NFL for a prolonged period for circumstances beyond his control.

The signal-caller has emerged into a transcendent figure that led the way when it came to making a stand against social injustice. Kaepernick and former Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid have now been cast aside from the league and although the quarterback is keen to continue his career, it doesn’t appear as if some recent good graces from the league are going to result in a job.

Kaepernick hasn’t given up hope.

But the chances are slim.

However, if the Panthers want to do some damage control regarding their standing within the team’s fanbase, it’s an option to consider. Providing that Kaepernick still has the arm strength and athleticism that played a leading role in the San Francisco 49ers reaching a Super Bowl under his leadership.

It’s been a long time since Kaepernick took a meaningful snap under center – 2016 to be precise. But there’s no denying what a lift this would give Carolina when they need it most.

There might be too much water under the bridge between Kaepernick and the NFL. However, if the Panthers reached out, the Nevada product would jump at the chance.
