Which Carolina Panthers find themselves in the last chance saloon ahead of their Week 8 game at the Atlanta Falcons?

The stakes are getting increasingly high for some members of the Carolina Panthers through Week 7. Their complete embarrassment at the New York Giants – who were missing key players on offense – was a sign that things might not be as they seem within the organization and unless something changes soon, their campaign will come apart in a hurry.

It’s not been good since Christian McCaffrey got injured. Some serious questions are now being asked about everything from the quarterback, the players, the coaching staff, and even the personnel decisions before the season got underway as a result of this torrid run of form.

Not exactly what the Panthers or its fanbase had in mind following a 3-0 start that came with some delusions of grandeur regarding what could be accomplished in 2021.

Things have to get better at the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, who come into the divisional matchup having won their last two after an indifferent start. If they don’t, then some drastic measures could follow.

Without further ado, here are four Panthers entering the last chance saloon in Week 8.

Cam Erving – Carolina Panthers OT

Brady Christensen went through some growing pains at the left tackle position in Week 7. All signs point to veteran Cam Erving resuming his duties on the blindside, which isn’t exactly a cause for optimism considering how the former first-round pick has performed since joining the Panthers.

Carolina already knows what it has in Erving. An underperforming veteran who gets blown up constantly in pass protection.

Another poor outing at the Falcons this weekend could be Erving’s last. Being 3-5 could see big changes to the lineup and it might signal an extended period at the position for Christensen as the Panthers examine exactly what they have in the BYU product.
