Here are some bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers’ crucial Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The time for talk is over for the Carolina Panthers. As the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words and it’s absolutely essential the team ends a concerning four-game slump this Sunday at the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.

This will be easier said than done. The Falcons are coming off two straight wins and seem to be hitting their stride at a good time, so the size of the task awaiting Matt Rhule and his roster cannot be understated.

One positive for the Panthers is the potential return of some influential defenders, which will be a huge morale boost for everyone associated with the organization. Even if things appear far less certain with quarterback Sam Darnold after his benching at the New York Giants.

Without further ado, here are five bold predictions for the Panthers in their latest NFC South divisional matchup.

Lachlan Edwards earns a longer stay with the Carolina Panthers

The punting was subpar on Sunday at the Giants and Ryan Winslow was removed from the set-up as a result. Not entirely unexpected following such a woeful performance.

With Joseph Charlton unlikely to be back anytime soon, the next man up for Carolina appears to be Lachlan Edwards – yet another former New York Jet brought into the fold by Rhule.

Although Edwards hasn’t played a competitive snap since 2019, don’t be surprised if his production results in a longer stay with the Panthers for the remainder of the campaign.
