3 winners and 3 losers from Panthers win at the Falcons in Week 8

D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
Just to be clear, D.J. Moore is not on this list because he had a bad game. He’s simply here because the wide receiver had horrible luck on what should’ve or could’ve been a touchdown.
Late in the second quarter, Sam Darnold threw a beautiful pass to Moore while in the red zone. But the officials didn’t rule it a touchdown, saying he didn’t have his feet down when landing in the end zone before he ‘dropped’ it.
It was very debatable and the Carolina Panthers challenged it, but the play was upheld.
Moore finished the day with four receptions for 59 yards, which included a long 23-yard pass from Darnold, but his day could have been that much better had that catch gone his way.
It could be argued that he shouldn’t have dropped the ball but either way, he’s probably kicking himself for that one.
Thankfully, this didn’t cost the Panthers in the grand scheme of things. Moore remains the primary receiving target with Christian McCaffrey on the sidelines, with the former first-round pick set for another stern test of his credentials in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.
