5 last-ditch trades for the Panthers to consider before the 2021 deadline

Tytus Howard – OL
As stated previously, the Carolina Panthers are in need of improving their offensive line. If not before the trade deadline, then this should be their top priority next spring unless Sam Darnold’s regression becomes so severe it forces the team’s hand to go in a different direction.
Darnold is clearly lacking trust in his protection right now. This is causing the quarterback to panic and that is when he makes mistakes.
Something every opposing defense now knows.
The Houston Texans have a lot on their plate right now. This is a struggling team with a clear cloud hanging over them in Deshaun Watson, which might call for a player or two to be shifted for valuable draft capital before the 2021 trade deadline.
Carolina doesn’t have a Day 2 pick to speak of, which makes things more difficult. Although that won’t stop Scott Fitterer from trying to improve things in the coming hours.
Tytus Howard came into the NFL with a big reputation following a standout college career at Alabama State. The Texans have switched him onto the interior this season after two years at the right tackle spot, which hasn’t brought around much upturn in production.
It might be time for the Texans to cut their losses with the former first-round pick. And the Panthers are renowned for taking chances on reclamation projects such as this who can play multiple positions.
