Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers LB

Although Shaq Thompson made a welcome return to the lineup, this did not stop Frankie Luvu from making a big-time impact in Week 8. The outside linebacker has been an absolute revelation following his free-agent arrival from the New York Jets, which was further enhanced by another tremendous performance at the Atlanta Falcons.

Luvu is a maniac on the field.

In a very good way.

His infectious enthusiasm and incredible energy are two key traits that are enabling him to thrive on the Carolina Panthers. Not only this, but Luvu has the football instincts and playmaking ability to make a substantial difference, with the player found in the Falcons backfield consistently on Sunday as a result.

The Panthers only gave Luvu 13 snaps on defense, which makes his impact all the more impressive. Considering the former Washington State star was a fringe player coming into the team this offseason, he is now a core part of the rotation and Carolina would be wise to keep him around beyond the current campaign.

Even though some top talent would take priority when it comes to new deals next spring, players like Luvu are hard to find and vitally important to the team’s success.
