Did we mention the Carolina Panthers need significant improvements on their offensive line?

This constant source of frustration has gone on long enough. Carolina rounds off their draft in this scenario by selecting another potential starter in Doug Nester with some additional work.

Nester was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and originally committed to Ohio State before flipping to Virginia Tech before transferring to West Virginia.

This colorful route has seen his draft stock dip slightly. But his raw power and ability to easily dispose of defensive linemen is something that really catches the eye.

There are some elements of Nester’s game that need to be developed. Most notably, his stiff technique could be his undoing against bigger, faster interior defenders at the next level.

Perhaps getting a replacement for center Matt Paradis is more important. Although much will depend on the development of players such as Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown in Year 2 of their pro careers.

It would be a shock if Dennis Daley or John Miller were kept around, so reinforcing this area of the field further from a rotational standpoint would be beneficial.
