It’s not just the left tackle spot that needs a significant upgrade on the offensive line. The Carolina Panthers also need some real help on the interior, with the likes of Matt Paradis, Dennis Daley, and John Miller simply not up to the required standard.

This is really hurting the team, especially in pass protection.

Carolina has overlooked this critical area of the field for too long. If they decide to allocate money elsewhere in free agency, then looking at the next batch of college recruits would be beneficial.

Someone like Jamaree Salyer fits the bill in no uncertain terms. The interior lineman has been nothing short of outstanding for top-ranked Georgia in 2021 and if his production keeps trending on an upward curve, the prospect will have more than a fair share of suitors during the evaluation process.

Salyer is a brute force against the run that can more than hold his own in pass protection. Even now, he already looks like a marked upgrade on anything Carolina currently utilizes and the lineman’s ability to lead is yet another intriguing element to his game that shouldn’t be overlooked.

One could argue that experience and continuity are two important traits to have on the offensive line. However, a complete makeover is desirable and the Panthers need Salyer or someone similar to come in and make an immediate impression.
