Which New England Patriots players must the Carolina Panthers keep quiet in Week 9 to get back above .500?

Remember months ago that this matchup was circled on many calendars as a Cam Newton revenge game?

Well, obviously that didn’t work out. But it will at least be something similar for new cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who will be facing his former team, the New England Patriots in just his second game with the Carolina Panthers.

Besides that, this game is now just a matchup between two average teams who are looking to get back to a winning record after salvaging their seasons last week.

The Panthers ended a four-game losing streak with a win over the Atlanta Falcons and the Patriots proved they could beat more than just bad teams with an eye-catching victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

While this isn’t the juggernaut New England team that we have come to know, they still seem to be very well-coached by Bill Belichick.

Carolina Panthers have some injury concerns heading into Week 9.

For Carolina to keep the winning going, they might have to do without two of their key offensive players in Christian McCaffrey, who may still be a week away from his return, and quarterback Sam Darnold, who suffered a concussion on Sunday.

Chuba Hubbard would be in line to start for McCaffrey again. But P.J. Walker would be the next man up if Darnold is forced to miss this week.

The Patriots’ defense is solid and there will be some key guys that Carolina’s offense will have to overcome while possibly being shorthanded.

Here are the five New England players the Panthers must keep quiet in Week 9.
