P.J. Walker scores three combined TDs for the Carolina Panthers

As stated previously, Sam Darnold is currently dealing with a concussion and a shoulder issue that is reportedly causing the Carolina Panthers some concern. It would be a massive surprise if the signal-caller played in Week 9, which means P.J. Walker gets another opportunity to prove his worth from a starting role.

Walker’s only other start came in 2020 during Carolina’s shutout win over the Detroit Lions. Although his production coming off the bench has been erratic, to say the least, ever since.

The former XFL MVP candidate has the physical tools needed to have a big say in proceedings. Taking the first-team reps in practice and preparing fully as a starter should also assist Walker ahead of yet another pivotal moment for the player.

Walker is out of contract this spring, so this is potentially an audition for another deal with the Panthers. The arm strength is there and he can also assist on the move when called upon, but the decision-making does need to be sharpened up.

It’s going to be very interesting to watch Walker’s poise and ability to lead. The Panthers are counting on him to have a prolific afternoon and if some early momentum is generated, then three total touchdowns from the signal-caller aren’t entirely out of the question.
