Which potential college prospects could become first-round targets for the Carolina Panthers during the 2022 NFL Draft?

It’s becoming clearer with every passing week just what the Carolina Panthers are going to need from their next batch of college recruits. Plans are no doubt being formed behind the scenes regarding potential targets in the 2022 NFL Draft, with stocks falling and rising up and down the country throughout the current campaign to date.

The 2021 draft class looks to be a decent one overall from the Panthers‘ perspective. Jaycee Horn looked like a shutdown cornerback in the making before breaking his foot, with the likes of Keith Taylor Jr., Daviyon Nixon, and Terrace Marshall Jr. all flashing through the first half of the season.

Less can be said about the choices of Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown. Long-snapper Thomas Fletcher’s arrival also came with some criticism considering there was plenty of talent left on the board in positions of need.

Carolina Panthers face a crucial 2022 NFL Draft for their future chances.

Carolina doesn’t have a Day 2 pick in Rounds 2 or 3 currently thanks to trades for Sam Darnold and C.J. Henderson. That makes it absolutely essential they get their first-rounder right, with the possibility of trading down not out of the question to get some capital back.

Just what the Panthers are going to do is yet to be determined.

But one thing’s for sure, it’s probably going to be another dramatic offseason period unless things improve dramatically on the field.

Without further ado, here are six potential first-round targets for the Panthers to consider next spring.
