Carolina Panthers OL building on a positive display?

One of the most positive things to emerge from Week 8 was the performance on the offensive line. The Carolina Panthers have endured significant difficulty in this area of the field – but the unit did show signs of life with a brand-new ethos that came with 47 rushing plays for 203 yards.

The Panthers need to continue this moving forward.

It was just one game, obviously. Bill Belichick will know where Carolina is weakest on their protection and look to expose this at every available opportunity.

Considering how well the guard tandem of Michael Jordan and Trent Scott played, then the weak link is obviously Cam Erving. A left tackle seemingly in name only who was criticized for his lack of effort on the drive that led to Sam Darnold’s concussion.

Confidence was incredibly low regarding this line. Jordan’s introduction has made a substantial difference and if others also build on a positive contribution at the Atlanta Falcons, then it’s going to help massively.

One couldn’t say with any great confidence this is possible – especially against any team coached by Belichick – so watching how they fare is a definite element to monitor.
