Carolina Panthers fantasy football outlook for Week 9 vs. the Patriots
Christian McCaffrey/Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers RBs
Christian McCaffrey appearing on the practice field on Friday is a good sign. But like Sam Darnold, the final say will be made closer to kickoff.
If he does play, it is expected that it will be in a limited role. The good thing for the Carolina Panthers is that this approach worked out nicely last week.
The lead back, Chuba Hubbard, bounced back nicely after a fumble on the very first play of the game. The rookie tallied over 14 fantasy points by rushing 24 times for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Start or Sit in Week 9?
START – Hubbard
SIT – McCaffrey
I don’t see a world where McCaffrey plays the number of snaps that would warrant starting him in fantasy. Hubbard should get the largest piece of the pie during another week where Carolina is going to make a concerted effort to commit itself to the running game once again.
The New England Patriots’ calling card is their pass defense this season. However, they’ve allowed over 24 fantasy points per game to rushers and this is something owners of Hubbard should take as a positive sign.
