What are some ways that returning former MVP Cam Newton can ignite a stuttering Carolina Panthers team after his shock return to Charlotte?

As Thursday’s go, this was a pretty good one for Carolina Panthers fans.

We were treated to the news most have been waiting all season for, Cam Newton is coming home.

The former MVP and No. 1 overall selection agreed to a one-year deal in Carolina worth potentially $10 million. After Newton left ahead of the 2020 season in acrimonious circumstances even the most optimistic of Panther fans thought the chances of seeing him play for the organization again were limited.

But here we are.

With the injury to Sam Darnold and the coaching staff’s lack of trust in P.J. Walker, Carolina had a need at quarterback, and Newton surprisingly to some answered the call from owner David Tepper.

With just three days until the Panthers face the Arizona Cardinals in the desert you’d imagine this week will come too soon for Newton. But it sets up a mouth-watering clash at Bank of America Stadium next Sunday against his former head coach Ron Rivera and the Washington Football Team.

Rivera has had opportunities to sign his former quarterback since his release by New England Patriots but decided against it. Could Newton see this as a redemption game against the man who drafted him?

Without further ado, here are four ways Newton can ignite the Panthers over the second half of the season.
