Cam Newton can take this offense to the next level

Let’s be honest, with the skill players the Carolina Panthers possess and the schedule they’ve had so far, this team shouldn’t be 4-5. A lot of that comes down to the mediocre play at the quarterback position, Cam Newton gives this offense the opportunity to reach it’s potential.

Robbie Anderson is someone who will sleep well tonight. He’s endured frankly a torrid season to date but it’s not all of his own doing.

The wide receiver had some drops but on multiple occasions, Anderson has found himself open but Sam Darnold has been unable to get the ball in his hands.

The offensive line is bad, of course, but it has made small steps over the past couple of weeks finding some small amounts of stability. Although this has been hampered slightly by the injury to Matt Paradis.

However, Newton is someone throughout his Panthers tenure who has flourished even behind below-average protection. As someone with the exceptional ability to extend the play, he can improve the numbers of the former New York Jet.

Even if Matt Rhule wants to stick to the philosophy of running the ball, Newton is someone who can be incorporated into the running game. Panthers fans grew accustomed to his powerful running creating huge plays out of nothing, something he can continue to do.
