5 reasons bringing Cam Newton back was the right call

The Carolina Panthers finally made the right call and brought back the former face of the franchise Cam Newton. But what exactly makes it the right call?
SuperCam is back!
After two disastrous years apart for both sides, a significant amount of pride was swallowed and the Cam Newton has been reunited with his family.
And what a reunion it is.
During a season with very little to bring joy to Carolina Panthers fans, this is exactly the smile we needed and even the most cynical of fans can’t hide their excitement at No. 1 trotting out in the black and blue once again.
Cam Newton brought so many fond memories to a certain young Panthers fan and is one of the main reasons anyone is reading this article.
From his high flying touchdown runs to his knack for throwing the football 80 yards off his back foot, Newton was electric during his tenure with the Panthers and there was never a dull moment to be sure.
This also included a win on Thanksgiving that I was lucky enough to enjoy in person over the Dallas Cowboys in that magical 2015 season. So magical that the cold November rain somehow didn’t feel so cold that night.
Just thinking about the fact that even a few short weeks ago no one even thought Newton could or even would come back makes this reunion all the more special. This has all the makings of a Hollywood movie and I am all for it.
The team is struggling without a direction and out of the fog comes the long-lost hero to lead them to victory. With this defense, resurgent special teams, and Newton leading the offense that isn’t a far-off possibility either.
There were a lot of factors that made this possibly the best decision of David Tepper’s ownership, so let’s take a look at a few of them.
