Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Football Team – Week 11

Although the Carolina Panthers did not get to welcome back Cam Newton for his Week 9 homecoming, something far better is on the horizon.

Newton will be introduced as the team’s starter at Bank of America Stadium in Week 11, which will be one of the most spine-tingling moments in franchise history. Not only this, but it also comes against former head coach Ron Rivera.

Rivera wasn’t out of work long after he was relieved of his duties in Carolina. Despite dealing with and successfully coming through cancer treatment, he led the Washington Football Team to a divisional title and playoff appearance during his first season with the franchise.

Things haven’t gone quite according to plan this time around. Washington has failed to build on a promising 2020 campaign and find themselves some way off the Dallas Cowboys and an overall postseason berth.

However, this is not a team to take lightly. Their defensive front is loaded with difference-makers and Washington also possesses weapons on offense – including former Panther Curtis Samuel – that can do damage if given enough space.

Losing is not an option in this one. This increased sense of urgency might be enough for the Panthers to come away with a much-needed success and having Newton manning the plate only enhances their chances.
