5 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers at Cardinals in Week 10
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey gains 150+ combined yards
If the Carolina Panthers integrated Christian McCaffrey back into the lineup slowly against the New England Patriots, they might not be afforded the same luxury in Week 10. The All-Pro notched just 18 combined touches after returning from a five-game absence, which should increase significantly given backup P.J. Walker is set to start under center.
This is a responsibility that McCaffrey knows all too well.
He’s also proven more than capable of putting this team on his back. Something McCaffrey has to do once again at the Arizona Cardinals until Cam Newton is ready to start in Week 11.
McCaffrey’s problems staying on the field are well documented and an ongoing source of frustration. However, there is no denying how important the former first-round pick is to the Panthers when fit and firing on all cylinders.
Arizona’s defense is good, make no mistake. But they are giving up 111.1 yards per game on the ground and McCaffrey might be able to take advantage of this if the offensive line performs above expectations.
If the holes are there and McCaffrey continues to make a difference in the passing game, then accumulating more than 150 all-purpose yards is well within his capabilities.
Should this bold prediction come to fruition, then it could give the Panthers a fighting chance.
