Stephon Gilmore – Carolina Panthers CB
Although Stephon Gilmore was unable to gain revenge on his former team in Week 9, it was another accomplished display. The All-Pro cornerback was assured in coverage for the second-straight week and now has consecutive interceptions for good measure, even if the offense was unable to take advantage of turnovers once again.
Picking up Gilmore for a 2023 sixth-round pick already looks like a shrewd bit of business by the Carolina Panthers. His experience has been a real asset and the former South Carolina star has hit the ground running despite missing around 10 months with a torn quad.
Gilmore has to continue this trend moving forward and especially this Sunday against what can only be described as a phenomenal Arizona passing attack.
Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, and Rondale Moore are also questionable for the clash. But the Cardinals can still call on some impressive players such as Zach Ertz, A.J. Green, and Christian Kirk even if they don’t suit up.
Limiting how the Cardinals move the football quickly is of critical importance. Gilmore not only needs to provide lockdown coverage individually, but he must also ensure that his teammates know what’s going on at all times.
If Gilmore can produce another exceptional performance, then it’ll boost his chances of getting one more big-money deal in Carolina or elsewhere.
