The entire Carolina Panthers defense
It’s no secret that the Carolina Panthers’ defense has been great this season. Even if they haven’t been helped most games by the offense.
On Sunday, when the offense was clicking, they didn’t fold and put up another big performance, holding Arizona to just 169 total yards, getting four sacks and an interception.
Defensive end Haason Reddick had the first big defensive play of the game, getting a strip-sack off of quarterback Colt McCoy, which led to Carolina’s first touchdown drive and really set the tone.
Cornerback Donte Jackson, who is in the midst of a career year had another big day against the Cardinals, getting a defensive momentum changer late in the first quarter when he picked off McCoy.
Carolina didn’t allow the Cardinals to score a touchdown until the fourth quarter. Outside linebacker Shaq Thompson had a sack, two quarterback hits and two passes defended to extend his exceptional campaign and give Phil Snow’s unit a consistent presence at the second level.
Even though Kyler Murray was out, McCoy looked solid last week and he was unable to do anything before he got injured late in the game.
This defense will continue to help the team win if they keep this up.
